Wednesday’s show opened discussing rising concerns that children as young as 11 and 12 years old are being offered drugs in Shannon.
Cllr Mike McKee of Sinn Féin was on the show to discuss the issue and call for a public meeting.
Then, the show touched on yet another possible downside to the hot weather. With grass growth at a third of the normal rate costs are rising for farms to feed livestock. Willie Hanrahan, Clare County Chair of the IFA (Irish Farmers Association) was on the show to discuss the situation.
Rounding out the show’s first hour Therese O’Donohue represented Lisdoonvarna Links and talked about the organisation’s plans to help refugees integrate into the wider community through summer camps.
Beginning the second hour we heard from Dr. Colum Gavin of Saffron & Blue Medical Centre, Clarecastle. In light of our current hot weather, Dr. Gavin had some advice about how to stay safe and healthy while out and about in the sun.

Then, Vincent Mc Cormack, Managing Director of GKinetic Energy and Innovation Manager at DesignPro Renewables detailed the latest developments on plans to install a 60KW hydro-kinetic turbine at Kildysart. They are currently awaiting a foreshore licence.
