The group says older people are concerned about the reduction in the Over 70’s medical card limit and the ending of the Bereavement Grant and that they are actively campaigning to seek Government to reverse the austerity decisions made in last weeks Budget

A Unique History of Shannon Airport will become part of the County’s Library Archives today
Local broadcaster Valerie Sweeney will present the Clare County Library Service with the boxed set of an eight-hour documentary series "From Foynes to Shannon" which was originally aired on Clare FM in 2001 and 2002
She’ll also present the original photographs used in her sold-out book, "Shannon Airport – A Unique Story of Survival" at a public function in the Shannon Library this evening
The Clare County Library intends to make copies of the material throughout its branch network of libraries, describing it a valuable resource for the people of Shannon and the county

Members of The Midwest Humanists (MWH) are planning to visit all the TDs in the Midwest (Limerick, Tipperary and Clare) to ask their representatives to raise the issue of removing all references to religion, God and blasphemy from the Irish Constitution, and to extend the constitutional provisions, against the State discriminating between people of different religions, to also prohibit discrimination between people who have a religion and people of no religion
