A new report says the unemployment crisis in Ireland will not be solved by the end of the decade
The Nevin Economic Research Institute says by the IMF’s own projections the employment rate will be 10-point-6 per cent by 2017 and will remain high until past 2020
And the NERI is criticising the Government for losing focus on the scale of the problem -and for failing to get people back to work

On Tuesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with the reports author, Ennis native Dr. Micheál Collins who said that according to the Troika – the unemployment crisis won’t be solved in the next 5 to 10 years

Clare County Council has called for the group which oversaw the implementation of the household charge to be disbanded, after thousands of homeowners wrongly received letters incorrectly stating they had not paid the charge
