Ennis General Hospital has been announced as the recipient of a prestigeous health award
Manager Frank Keane and his team were announced as winner at the Biomnis Healthcare Innovation Awards in the category of Innovation in Quality of Service Delivery
The presentation was made by Minister Frances Fitzgerald at the Burlington Hotel on Saturday night

On Tuesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke was joined in studio by Frank Keane and also Dr Michael Harty, Kilmihil GP and member of the Irish College of GPs in Clare had a word welcoming this accolade.

Minister Ruairi Quinn yesterday announced 6,000 new part time higher education places for unemployed people as part of a further roll out of the Springboard initiative
36 institutes of technology, universities and privately-run higher education colleges around the country will be offering  a total of 220 Springboard courses
929 places are available in the West and South-West
The courses are free, part-time and at certificate degree and postgraduate level – all of the courses address an identified current or future skills needs
