There’s widespread joy and relief among staff and parents at Ennis National School that its finally going to construction
The redevelopment of the school on a greenfield site near Ashline on the Kilrush Road was one of 56 new building projects announced by the Education Minister today, but only one of 26 national schools to get approval
Construction is likely to begin by March of 2012 and its hoped the students will be able to move from their current 16 prefabricated classroom set up within 18 months
It comes over a decade of campaigning for new facilities for the 700 or so pupils, staff and parents
Ray McInerney, Ennis National School Principal expressed the delight of the community at this long awaited news.
