Tuesday was a busy day on Morning Focus, looking at a broad range of topics, from sport to animal welfare.

Next up was Labour Party TD and former Minister for Housing and Planning, Jan O’Sullivan who spoke to Gavin about the worrying trend of landlords requesting two months rent as deposit. Deputy O’Sullivan also spoke about the change in constituency borders between Clare and Limerick, a topic that is of personal importance to her, seeing as she is from the affected area. Gabriella Hanrahan, Community Liaison Officer in the University of Limerick then joined Gavin to discuss the important issue of the gender pay gap, which is in the news again following the release of the BBC’s payments to its high earning staff which showed only one woman in the top ten highest earners.

Money Doctor Tommy Corbett of Carey Corbett Financial Services paid his weekly visit to Gavin, this week speaking about ancillary insurances. You can listen back to the Money Doctor below:

After that, Ian Glendinning, Chairperson of the Loop Head Tourism Group and member of the Loop Head Food Circle spoke to Gavin about the Food Circle’s nomination for the Restaurant Association of Ireland’s ‘Foodie Destination’. You can listen back to the interview with Ian below:

Actor James Raleigh then called in to studio to promote his journey through Clare, where he will be stopping off in pubs around the county and performing Eamonn Morrisey’s adaption of Flann O’Brien’s ‘The Brother. The show then finished up with County Dog Warden Frankie Coote who gave us his weekly update on animal welfare in the county.
