Tuesday’s Morning Focus combined hard-hitting issues with some lighter topics, advice on personal finances and an update on crime victim supports in Clare.

The show opened with a look at the troubling issue of online and digital abuse. Johnny O’Rourke, Manager of Clare Haven, told Gavin about the steps that people can take to avoid this issue. The next topic was a call for the scrapping of the 9% VAT rate for the hospitality sector. The reduced rate has been hugely beneficial to Clare’s tourism industry, but Fr Seán Healy of Social Justice Ireland believes it needs to be raised in order to fund public and social services.
