Legendary Sports broadcaster Jimmy Magee joined John Cooke on Thursday’s Morning Focus to speak about his biography ‘Memory Man’
He recalled his best sporting memories, spoke about his admiration for Katie Taylor, and mused on London 2012.

Jimmy will be in the Ennis Book Shop this Saturday at 3pm signing copies of his biography. 

Clare’s Government TDs insist the Health Minister has made no final decision on the future of emergency medical care at Ennis General
Deputies Pat Breen and Joe Carey have issued a joint statement, stating that they have received confirmation from James Reilly that no final decision has been taken with regards to the county hospital
The HSE had previously told Clare FM that functions at Ennis General will change in line with national clinical programs, though it insisted no date had been set for this to occur
The Minister says the hospital’s fate will become clear after the publication of the Small Hospitals Framework Document, which Deputy Pat Breen admits will occur in the near future, though he’s confident it will serve as a key boost

She also produces preserves and occasionally supplies Irish Seed Savers in Scarriff with fruit and veg from the holding 
She had some tips on preserving and storage ahead of the Winter  and Carmen Cronin, Munster GIY Coordinator, had details of upcoming meeting throughout the county

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which takes place on Thursday, 20th September, and an appeal is being launched today by Clare Hospice at Cahercalla for people to enjoy a cup of coffee with friends or colleagues and raise much needed funds for local hospice care

Local fundraising for hospice services is now more important than ever before.  Hospice care, like other areas of the health service, has been affected by cutbacks and local fundraising is essential to ensure that vital hospice services are maintained
Mary Moloney of the Fundraising Department at Cahercalla Hospice joined John in studio and said a lot of supporters from previous years have gone out of business so they are anxious for others to get involved
