Deputy Joe Carey, FG and Michael McDonagh, FF candidate in the coming General Election, spoke about the Budget 2016 and how it will affect the people of Clare. In relation to the topic, The Social Justice Ireland brands budget 2016 'regressive'. Speaking on this, Sean Healy of Social Justice Ireland talked to Gavin on why he thought it was regressive.
The brave Somia Halawa spoke to Gavin about the struggles her family have faced. She is the sster of Ibrahim Halawa who is imprisoned in Egypt. She is involved in a presentation to Clare County Council.
Giving blood has started a new appointment system which was trialled in Kilrush. Noel Fulham has been a long-time blood donor. He has made 53 blood donations to-date and has been living in Kilrush for 30 years. His eldest daughter, Jennifer also donates and has made around 20 donations so far.
Clare Roots Society Lecture takes place tonight at 8pm at the Old Ground, Ennis. 'Lives, Letters and Liberty – The Post Office in Ireland'. Stephen Ferguson the Assistant Secretary of An Post spoke to Gavin about the event.
