A man has been taken to hospital after a car crashed through the glass door of an Ennis supermarket
The incident occured at Lynch’s Centra on the Gort Road at around 8:30 last night
A white Ford van came through the front of the supermarket, destroying at least one window, and leaving shards of glass and stock strewn over the shop floor
Emergency services, including three units from of the fire service from Ennis, were called to the scene where they found that everyone inside had luckily escaped serious injuries
Gardai say it appears to have been a complete accident

In a seperate incident last night the Shannon-based coast guard helicopter was dispatched to Ennis to take part a search of the River Fergus, after reports that someone had entered the water
The call was made shortly after 9 o’clock, but there were no signs that such an incident occurred
