The Cliffs of Moher are listed in the top 28 in the global online campaign for the New 7 Wonders of Nature
The third and final phase of voting is now underway with people again able to vote for the Cliffs from the selection of 28 official finalist candidates
All votes from phase one and two are not counted in the final phase so it is vital that everyone votes again!

The new 7 natural wonders of Nature will be chosen by an estimated 1 billion votes
The count down is on with the official declaration of the new 7 wonders of Nature taking place tomorrow
The famous County Clare landmark is Ireland’s entry and need your support more than ever

Thursday’s Morning Focus came live from the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience on the final day of voting for the campaign

Katherine Webster, Director of the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience and Marketing Manager Geraldine Enright and Paul Ryan, Tourism Marketing Manager with Shannon Development joined John Cooke.

The New Seven wonders of nature campaign followed on from a global internet campaign to find the new Seven Wonders of the World – and when this one is over – the next campaign will see people across the world voting for the new seven cities on the World.
The New Seven Wonders Head of Communications is an Irish man – Eamon Fitzgerald and with less than 24 hours to go until the close of votes for the new seven wonders of nature I’ve been asking him about the Cliffs of Moher’s chances and what how the results will unfold tomorrow
Eamonn Fitzgerald – Head of Communications, New 7 Wonders based in Zurich spoke about the competition

Vice President Irish Hotels’ Federation and Lahinch Hotelier Michael Vaughan, Barbara Faulkner of the Ailwee Caves and of the Clare Tourism Forum and Mayor of Clare Pat Hayes spoke about the importance of the campaign and the potential benefits of being successful, and also the benefits of being shortlisted

A Clare delegation returned yesterday from ‘London to Clare’ event in London
A group representing Tourism in County Clare is launched the 2012 Calendar of Events and Clare DVD on Tuesday
Just under 40 tourism providers from County Clare were in London with the aim of harnessing the goodwill and powers of persuasion of the Clare Diaspora in London
The Clare Tourism Forum believe that people with a connection to County Clare and Ireland could be very influential in encouraging colleagues or associates in business or other organisations to consider a trip to Clare

Harpist Tina Mulrooney has been busking at the Cliffs for 27 years
She’s a Summer season performer – says the tourists absolutely love the ambience created when the music of the harp is played as they look at the majesty of the Cliffs of Moher

Wildlife Expert and the Clare Chairman of Birdwatch Ireland John Murphy spoke about the flora and fauna at the Cliffs of Moher is renowned and John can discuss this 

Cliffs of Moher Ranger Michael Hayes spoke about the day to day job that varies between helping tourists with questions, school tours, guiding around the site
He also spoke about history of cliffs, formation of the cliffs and O’Brien’s Tower
Michael has worked at the centre for quite some time as he worked previously for Shannon Heritage before the new centre opened

Now the final 28 in the New seven wonders of nature campaign includes some of the worlds most famous tourist sites including the Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef,  the Dead Sea and other popular attractions, but the campaign has also boosted the profile of the Cliffs of Moher world wide along with other spectacular sites that, until now, weren’t so well known
The Bay of Fundi extends from the Northern Coast of Maine into Eastern Canada between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia and is famous for the highest tides in the world with 100 billion tonnes of water filling in and out of the bay each day
During the seven wonders campaign the Bay of Fundi and the Cliffs of Moher teamed up to support each other in the global online vote and we met Terri McCulloch – the Executive Director of the Bay of Fundi Tourism when she visited the Cliffs earlier this year
John spoke with to Terri McCulloch, Executive Director of the Bay of Fundi Tourism and started by asking how the new seven wonders campaign has been greeted in Canada

Michael Galvin, Flute and Banjo player has been busking at the Cliffs for the past 15 years
He loves what he does and meeting tourists from all over the world

Paul Newhook, President of Vandal’s Rugby Club from Newfoundland in Canada was visiting the Cliffs with his team, he spoke about his impressions so far
