Sewerage in Liscannor has been a topical issue for many years but this week images have appeared online of a pipe in Liscannor that is pumping sewerage several feet in the air and out into the bay. Patrick Blake from the Liscannor Harbour Association told us that he wants answers to this problem once and for all. Meanwhile, Irish Water issued a statement. It read “Irish Water has completed assessment of tenders and intends to award a Contract in September for a design study on a number of areas where there is currently no treatment. Liscannor is one of the areas that will be included in this study. The study will look at possible solutions for the upgrade of wastewater infrastructure in those areas and the programme for completion of any upgrade works will depend on the outcome of the study”.
