To kick off the show, Gavin spoke with Dr Michael Harty, Independent TD for Clare, about the recent unveiling of an over-the-counter contraceptives plan in Ireland. Many GPs are unhappy with the plan as they believe they can provide more services than a pharmacist.

While GPs are worrying about the new contraceptives plan, local residents are worrying that speed limits in Clare may be set too high in certain areas. Councillor Michael Hillery and Janet Kavanagh of Ted Tours in Kilfenora who has witnessed many road incidents involving tourists over the years, talked with Gavin about the issue.

Following the launch of Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s multi-million euro plan for the Gaeltacht and the Iirsh language earlier in the week, Gavin chatted with Dónal Ó Lionsigh, who is the principal at Cólaiste Eoghain Uí Chomhraidhe and also a Cúl Caint presenter about the opportunities that this plan opens up for Gaeilge in Clare.

After Dr. Toby’s parenting segment and some music, Gavin was joined by David Fitzsimons, a former retail lobby chief who shared his two decades of experience with Gavin live on air. David also gave advice for those currently in the retail sector.

Then, Michael King, son of Tom King from Tulla came onto the show to take about Ireland’s annual cystic fibrosis appeal. Tom King passed away at 62 years of age and at the time, was the oldest person in Ireland with CF. In commemoration of his father Michael spoke with Gavin about his father and the story of his life as the son of a man with CF.
