This is annual Suicide Awareness Week

The suicide and self-harm crisis centre Pieta House is asking local communities in Clare to organise fundraising events during Suicide Awareness Week which runs from 10th to 17th September
Pieta House saw a 40% increase in the number of people seeking help in the first six months of this year

Clare MABS & Citizens Information Service will hold a morning seminar on the ‘Personal Insolvency Bill’ which will be chaired by Marie Keane President Clare Law Association on Wednesday 12th September in the Temple Gate Hotel Ennis at 9.45am
The Personal Insolvency Bill 2012 has been published and is currently being discussed by the Oireachtas. The Bill aims to introduce new arrangements for dealing with personal and mortgage debts as well as setting out very detailed rules about the procedures for operating the new arrangements.
The seminar will describe the main features of these proposed new arrangements, with particular emphasis on those arrangements, which will apply to people with low incomes and relatively small amounts of debt in particular in dealing with perennial issue of mortgage debts added Paul Woulfe Manager of the Citizens Information Service in Clare

The funeral mass of Robert Sheehan who was murdered in Bunratty last weekend took place at Corpus Christi Church in Moyross last Thursday
Speaking in his homily, parish priest Fr Tony O’Riordan, condemned those responsible for murdering the 21-year-old father-of-one who was gunned down as he attended his brother’s wedding reception.
Fr O’Riordan called to those in authority to examine their attitude to marginalised communities, education cuts and the management of public estates and condemned the killing
Robert’s father Patrick spoke during his son’s funeral mass, and said his family do not want any revenge attacks for the killing
