On Monday’s Morning Focus Marian Egan spoke with Michael McNamara  TD of the Labour Party and Mark Kelly, Director of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties and the Vote No campaign about the proposed 30th amendment to the consitution
Deputy McNamara was endorsing the government’s referendum on the 30th Amendment that proposes to  grant full investigative powers to Oireachtas committees investigating matters of public interest
Mark Kelly spoke on behalf of the No Campaign that includes The Irish Council for Civil Liberties, Oireachtas members and professionals claiming if the referendum is passed, people will be subjected to ‘Kangaroo Courts’

Independent Presidential Candidate Dana Rosemary Scanlon had a word with Marian ahead of polling day this Thursday
She entered politics in 1997, running in the Irish presidential election and subsequently being elected as the MEP for Connacht–Ulster
She says, if elected to the Presidency she would reject any new attempt by the Eurocrats to fiddle with our Constitution
The presidential campaign is entering its final stages – with independent candidate Sean Gallagher surging ahead in the polls
The candidates will take part in two debates today – an interactive one held by Newstalk and Google; and a TV debate on RTE’s Frontline
The latest poll in today’s Irish Times puts former Fianna Fail member Sean Gallagher out in front on 40 per cent – Labour’s Michael D Higgins is next on 25, Sinn Féin’s Martin McGuinness is third on 15 per cent
Then – well behind – are David Norris on 8, Fine Gael’s Gay Mitchell on 6 per cent and Dana Rosemary Scallon and Mary Davis on 3 per cent each

Crusheen have won two in a row county senior hurling titles with  a 10- 4 win over Sixmilebridge yesterday 
The north Clare side led at the break by 4 points to three but took over in the second period scoring 6 unanswered points to certain the county title they won the first time last season
Sixmilebridge only pinto the second half came in the dying min utes as they struggled in the very difficult playing conditions
Catherine Brigdale, Crusheen GAA PRO, had a word with Marian and we heard Crusheen Captain Gerry O’Grady speaking with Syl O’Connor after yesterday’s match

Growing food and getting out into the garden has really taken off in Clare with 5 Grow-It-Yourself (GIY) groups now active and meetings ongoing each month
In the autumn/winter months, many meetings evolve more around harvest, storage, preserving, etc. but indeed many growers are still active in their tunnels or already planning for the year ahead
