The community of Tuam in Co. Galway is reeling this morning after a tragic accident that claimed the lives of two young sisters
2 year old Katie Gilmore and 12-week old Grace Gilmore died after being struck by a car on the N17 in Dunmore, Tuam yesterday afternoon
Their father had taken them for a walk and was also injured in the crash, but his injuries are not life threatening

On Monday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with John Fallon, Reporter with Media West about the tragic accident.

According to the 2011 census the largest single religion in Clare was Catholicism with a total of 101,984 persons, the largest number of Catholics in the county since 1911
In total 87% of the total population was Catholic, an increase of 3.9% since 2006- this compared with an increase of 4.9% to 84.2% of the population for the State as a whole
The total of those with no religion, atheists and agnostics increased more than three-fold between 1991 and 2011 to stand at 6,384 or 5.4% of the population of the county in 2011
