MORNING FOCUS MONDAY NOVEMBER 17TH

Clare hurling legend Anthony Daly joined John for an extended interview this morning ahead of the official launch of his autobiography 'Dalo'. The former Clare captain led the banner to the Holy Grail of All Ireland success on two historic occasions. Daly followed this with successful periods as Manager of his own native county and Dublin where he managed to bring provincial and league success to the capitals hurling public. In the book not only talks openly about his sporting career but all his personal life and the key events in his life which  have shaped the man he is today.

Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan officially launched the Mid West Regional Drugs and Alcohol Forum today, at the Absolute Hotel, Limerick.The HSE supports the Mid West Regional Drugs and Alcohol Forum in its work in researching, developing, implementing and monitoring a co-ordinated response to substance misuse issues in the Mid West. Events have been organised in partnership with community, voluntary and statutory agencies with the Mid West region. Michael Lacey , spokesperson for the Drugs and Alcohol Awareness week spoke to John about the main aim for the week.

Clare FM has been awarded the overall prize at the 2014 Agricultural Journalism Awards. The Clare FM Newsteam also took the top prize in radio category at the awards, organised by the Guild of Agricultural Journalists in Ireland.The station was honoured for an entry focussed on its coverage of the fodder crisis in 2012 and 2013, across news coverage and Farm Focus and the Morning Focus programs. Gavin Grace, Clare FM Deputy News Editor spoke outlined the importance of the award to John.

`Cratloe were beaten by The Nire in yesterdays Munster Club Football Semi Final. An enthralling game went all the way to extra time where the Waterford side won by 1-13 to 2-8.The sides couldn't be separated throughout, with the score after normal time reading Cratleo 2-7 The Nire 1-10. Clare FM's match commentator Syl O'Conner broke down the game with John.

Finally on today’s show Brian Finnegan of the Clare branch of Birdwatch Ireland was ins tudio to promote the societies beautiful  2015 calendar which features stunning photos of various birds taken across the county.
