Morning Focus opened with a special report from Gavin Grace who was on the streets of Ennis as President Michael D Higgins officially opened Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann.
An estimated 12,000 people were in the town for a celebratory parade and a ceremony at the Abbey Street Car Park.
The President hailed the importance of Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in spreading Irish music and culture throughout the world. Michael D. Higgins was speaking after he officially opened this year's 65th version of the world's largest traditional music festival, which takes place in Ennis.
Over 12,000 people turned out for the opening celebrations, at which President Higgins also hailed Clare and its musicians for being at the forefront of traditional music over several generations.
Morning Focus then turned its attention to the issue of crimes against business. Gavin spoke with Chief Executive of ISME the organisation representing small and medium-sized enterprises.
Over the weekend, a large plastic structure at Tim Smyth Park in Ennis has been generating a lot of interest. It's the Mirazozo Luminarium – an art installation which invites the public in to explore colourful corridors and chambers of light.
Designed by 'Architects of Air', the luminarium is part of the Clare County of Culture initiative.
Similar structures has been visited at iconic locations in 43 countires by more than 2 million people.
While the Mirazoao Luminarium was being installed on site last Friday, Clare FM's Fiona McGarry reported on the attraction.
