Next on the show we heard Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy offer an explanation for Clare’s high homelessness figures when he visited Dromoland last Friday afternoon. The Minister also addressed the recent vote of no confidence in him tabled by Sinn Féin.

Ending our first hour Garda Superintendent John Galvin addressed concerns about illegal drug use in Ennistymon and the rest of North Clare. Galvin said that the area is no worse than anywhere else in the country.

Then, Inagh native, Roisín NíGarbhaith talked about her new company Love Your Cup and its nomination for a Social Entrepreneurs award. The company aims to offer a sustainable alternative to disposable paper and plastic cups.

Moving into the final hour the Monday Sports Panel talked Clare’s semi-final win against Limerick and their prospects against Cork in the Munster Senior Hurling Final. This week’s panel included Eoin Brennan of the Clare people and of course, Clare FM’s own, Derrick Lynch.

The show ended with an update from Bernard Lucas about the Caitríona Lucas Challenge. The challenge was organized to honour the late coastguard Catríona Lucas and involved climbing 26 mountains across the 32 countries in 10 days. The group completed the challenge today.
