There was a lively start to the week on Morning Focus, with hard-hitting political interviews, sports analysis and live music in studio.
The show opened with a visit from Clare’s Independent TD, Dr Michael Harty who spoke to Gavin about the retirement of Noirín O’Sullivan as Garda Commissioner, and other issues.
The show then heard the story of Mary from West Clare who almost fell victim to a very sophisticated phone scam. Mary got suspicious and she contacted her bank who told her it was a scam. Mary also got in touch with her local post office and Gavin then spoke to Pat Gavin postmaster in Carrigaholt about the issue.
With the Labour Party holding a think in before the new Dáil term, Gavin was joined on the line by Limerick Deputy Jan O’Sullivan.
Sarah Breen was Gavin’s next guest. She and her friend and fellow author Sarah McLysaght have just published a novel ‘Oh my God, what a complete Aisling’, based on their hugely popular Facebook page. Listen back below:
The sports panel was made up of Clare FM’s Derrick Lynch and Eoin Brennan of the Clare People. Listen back below:
This year’s Truck Run for Katie takes place next Saturday week (September 23). Gavin was joined ahead of the event by Katie’s dad Eugene Drennan and Sgt John Moloney of Kilrush Garda Station. Listen back below:
