Morning Focus – Monday 06/03/17

Monday’s Morning Focus saw a show jam packed with a multitude of various topics.

At 9am, Gavin was joined by Councillor Tony O’Brien, Killaloe MD member of the Clare County Council, and they discussed the Bus Éireann strike and its aversion.

Shortly after that, Gavin discussed the discovery of human remains in a Mother and Baby Home site in Tuam. Historian, Rita McCarthy and Deputy Editor of the Tuam Herald, Siobhán Holliman joined Gavin to shed some light on the saddening event.

To Finish up the first hour of the show, Councillor Ian Lynch, Independent member of West Clare MD, joined Gavin on the show to talk about the call for an election poster ban in Kilrush.

At 10am, we heard the Garda Focus segment.

Next, Mark Campbell joined Gavin Grace to talk about Cannabis use and how to cut down or quit.

After that, Motivational speaker, Dave O’Brien came onto the show to talk about his ‘Desert Run’ and his appearance in the West County Hotel on the 8th of March.

To finish up the second hour of the show, Gavin was joined by two ladies and a gentleman who worked at Shannon airport in the Duty Free Shopping section. They are celebrating 70 years of duty free by hosting a reunion at the Radison Blu Hotel on Wednesday March 29th.

At 11am, the Sports Panel kicked off. Gavin was joined by Derick Lynch, Peter O’Connell, and Eoin Brennan. They discussed the sports star of the month and all other current sports events.

Following the Sports Panel, we heard about Seachatin na Gaeilge.

To finish the Monday Morning Focus Show, Laura Mulcahy and Sarah Ferrigan joined Gavin to discuss Laura’s new album ‘Funeral, Home, Lizard’ to be released on the 8th of March in conjunction with Clare Women’s Network International Women’s Day celebrations.
