Tenants will be hit with the 100 euro household charge as the Irish Property Owners Association says landlords in the private rental sector cannot afford it  and the second home tax of 200 euro which came in last year
The IPOA is now advising landlords to write to tenants – outlining a monthly service charge of 25 euro – which amounts to 300 euro a year, to cover the household charge AND the second home tax
On Friday’s Morning Focus John Cooke discussed this with Margaret McCormick, spokesperson for the Irish Property Owners Association and Senator Aideen Hayden,spokesperson for the housing agency Threshold

Senator Hayden says landlords will bear full responsibility for payment of the new household charge and under no circumstances will tenants be liable
Aideen is shocked to see the Irish Property Owners’ Association (IPOA) urging landlords to levy the household charge on their tenants

A new development fund to try and attract additional routes at Shannon Airport has been announced by Shannon Development
The Shannon Region Airline Fund, will be used to help secure additional scheduled and charter business for the Airport

A fundraiser in aid of the Jack & Jill foundation is taking place at Ozone Gym in the run up to Christmas
Their idea is to ‘Run or Spin for Jack and Jill’
They are dedicating treadmills and spinning bikes in the gym to the foundation between now and Christmas and you buy minutes to use that machine
This has been ongoing but the final big day is tomorrow
Mags Naughton,a nurse working with Jack and Jill in Clare, and Darren Pilkinton of Ozone Fitness joined John to encourage people to support the fundraising event.
Mags also discussed how many families in Clare she works with and the kind of support they get from the Jack and Jill Foundation
They also act as an advocacy service giving people advise as to their entitlements and how to go about applying for different supports
