Morning Focus Friday April 20

In advance of this week’s Dáil debate on legislation for the X Case, Choice Ireland called on all political parties to support the legislation to give effect to the judgment of the X Case handed down in 1992 in order to allow women to avail of abortion services in Ireland where there is a real and substantial risk to their lives
The Pro Life Campaign has welcomed the defeat of Bill which would have legalised abortion up until birth
They described the abortion Bill which was defeated yesterday in Dáil Éireann, and proposed by Socialist Party TD Clare Daly, as “unnecessary and misleading”
The Bill was defeated by 109 votes to 20
On Friday’s Morning Focus John Cooke was joined by Pro Life Campaign Deputy Chairperson Cora Sherlock and Sinead Aherne, Spokesperson for Choice Ireland to discuss the issue.

It’s proposed that a 50 kilometre zone on the R478 Liscannor road at Lahinch Golf Club be extended, even though some say it is already effectively acting as a speed trap
