Friday’s edition of Morning Focus had a number of contributors assessing the future of Minister Frances Fitzgerald, she’s in the midst of a row which has pushed the government to the edge of a General Election.

The show opened with an interview with FG TD for Clare, Dep Joe Carey who told Gavin why the party is standing firm behind the embattled Tánaiste.
Then, talk turned to issues closer to home and the campaign to restore full services to the out-of-hours GP co-op, Shannondoc. Gavin spoke with Deirdre Culligan, Aoife Taylor and Dr Pat Morrissey, Chair of Shannondoc.
After that, the discussion returned to crisis facing government as Fianna Fáil gets set to table a motion of no confidence in Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald. FF TD for Clare, Dep Timmy Dooley told Gavin why the party has finally decided to take such a hard line.
Then, Gavin had a chat with Michael Talty from West Clare who has been raising funds for CRumlin Children’s Hospital for 18 years and is set to hold another event tonight (Fri Nov 24), his last, at the Quilty Tavern. Listen back below:
Carol Gleeson was Gavin’s next guest. She’s the Manager of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark and she told the show about an international conference on sustainable tourism held in North Clare this week.
The show then heard from Ciara O’Donoghue from Inch National School where the pupils are getting set for a carol services at Dunnes Stores in Ennis on December 17.
