Morning Focus was packed with comprehensive details, analysis and reactions to Budget 2019 which was revealed yesterday.
Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley was on the line to talk about what it means for Clare and we also had reactions from the Clare public on this year’s budget with a vox-pop.
The second hour also had plenty of Budget 2019 content to get your teeth into with analysis from Minister for Education and Skills Richard Bruton.
Frances Lenihan, Director of Tax, Deloitte Ireland spoke about the economic impact of Brexit on Clare, taking a look at the impact on entrepreneurship, domestic businesses and farming.
The final hour of the show featured Séamus Mac Mathúna, Oidhreacht an Chláir who informed us about the inaugural poetry event in memory of Miltown man Tomás Ó hAodha. The first ever Irish-language event of its kind in Clare will take place on Friday and Saturday (October 12 & 13) in Áras OaC, Miltown Malbay.

We heard about the centenary of the Columban Fathers in Kildysart from Fr Mike O’Loughlin. There will be celebrations to commemorate the establishment of the Columban Fathers this Sunday (October 14).

Then, Kerrie Fleming and Fr Donagh O’Meara told us about the charity fashion show which is being held at Scariff Community College on October 19 to raise funds for Missionvale in South Africa. A group of local volunteers spent ten days at Missionvale volunteering their time to help Sr. Ethel Normoyle who founded the charity.
