Morning Focus began today with a vox-pop from Clare FM’s Ryan Hanton who took to the streets of Ennis to see what public feeling was like ahead of Budget 2019 being revealed.
Then CEO of Clare County Council, Pat Dowling and Christine Sharpe spoke about the speed limits review on Clare roads. A review was finally adopted by Councillors after the third time of asking.
Eoin O’Hagan, Director of Derg Boat Trips chatted to Gavin about his proposal to Clare County Council for a new Shannon Greenway. Following on from the success of other Greenways the East Clare tourism operator decided to make the proposal.

The second hour of the show began with Peter O’Hara, Midwest Humanists telling us about the referendum on removing the blasphemy ban from the Constitution. The referendum to remove the prohibition on Blasphemy will take place on October 26.
Garda Chief Supt John Kerin highlighted the issue with anti-social behaviour in Ennis town centre following calls to create alcohol-free zones on certain streets.
After that, Pat Murphy, Senior Customer Service Manager, Revenue, Limerick gave pay and file advice for the self-employed ahead of the deadline on October 31.

In the last hour of Morning Focus CEO of Alone, Seán Moynihan urged people to remember the elderly on World Mental Health Day. ALONE is a charity which supports older people and encourages the public to be aware of loneliness in Irish society which has grown hugely in recent years.
Clare FM’s music guru Brian Flynn was live in studio to talk music and played the greatest song you’ve probably never heard.
Following on from this we learned about the Fáilte Ireland Tourism Barometer whereby over 500 businesses around the country were surveyed. Josephine O’Driscoll, Wild Atlantic Way Manger, Fáilte Ireland joined Gavin on the line to talk about the results of the survey.
The show concluded with Margaret O’Brien, Ennis Chamber of Commerce and Cllr Michael Begley who announced the finalists for the Clare Business Excellence Awards. November 15th will see the ninth annual Clare Business Awards take place.
