A busy Monday Morning Focus included a special report from Clare FM’s Conor Quaid on a new sensory room at Shannon Airport. This is a first for a European airport and is designed to reduce the stress for autistic passengers, their families and carers. Listen back below:

The show opened with a discussion on illegal dumping after Councillor Paul Murphy explained how he found 20 bags of nappies close to Latoon Bridge, outside Clarecastle.

Gavin then heard from Conor O’Connell, Regional Director of the Southern Region of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF). The organisation claims there’s a ‘dangerous imbalance’ in regional development and its calling for greater investment in key infrastructure developments outside of Dublin.

The recent spike in fatal collisions involving cyclists was then discussed with Deputy Ciaran Cannon joining Gavin on the line. The Galway East deputy is proposing new measures to ensure motorists give cyclists a wider clearance area.

Following a compensation award of €20,000 to a woman who injured her leg when she bagged it against the leg of a restaurant dining table, Gavin was joined by Adrian Cummins, CEO of the Restaurant Association of Ireland.

David Newton, an acclaimed photographer, was Gavin’s next guest. After shooting at locations across Clare, he gave Gavin some of this tips for photographing the county’s landmarks. Listen back below:
