Avenue United are on course to retain their Clare Cup title following a comprehensive victory over last years beaten finalists Newmarket Celtic.
A brace from Thomas Hehir in addition to a strike from Nna Nneji saw the Cherries well on their way to a 3-1 victory in Roslevan as the Ennis men booked their quarter-final spot.
Elsewhere there was better fortunes for Newmarket Celtic’s second string who defeated Manus Celtic by 2-0.
