Rebels Down Clare In All Ireland Camogie Championship

Cork made it two wins from two to take control of their group with a 2-17 to 2-5 win over Clare in the All Ireland senior Camogie championship.

The Rebellettes were the dominant side throughout, with a well taken goal from Amy O’Connor helping them lead by 1-8 to 0-4 at half time.

A second goal arrived just 16 seconds into the new half for the home side in Pairc ui Rinn, and from there Cork never looked like letting the game slip.

Clare’s gruelling schedule which has been them play 5 games in as many weeks told as a fresher and sharper Cork side found their scores easier to come by.

The Banner did have goals late on through Lorna McNamara and Clare Hehir, but they were scores that never threatened the outcome of the game as Cork all but assured themselves of a semi-final spot.

Clare now take on Wexford in Cusack Park on Saturday next in Sixmilebridge.
