Ennis Economist Says Cost Of Housing Needs To Be Addressed As Part Of Living Wage

The living wage as been revised upwards due to the rising cost of rent.

The hourly rate has been increased by nearly 5 percent to 12 euro 90.

The rate is calculated in line with how much a fulltime worker would need to earn to maintain a basic, but reasonable, standard of living.

An increase in the national minimum wage, which currently stands at 10 euro 20, will be considered by the government ahead of next month’s budget announcement.
