‘Cautious Optimism’ Expressed As Younger Primary School Classes Reopen

A North Clare-based former President of Ireland’s largest teachers’ union says there’s ‘cautious optimism’ among the profession as classes for younger primary pupils reopen today.

All classes from Junior infants to second class, including those above that age group who are in mixed class environments, are returning to school this morning.

Leaving Certs are also returning to the classroom today, with older primary school pupils and the rest of the secondary cohort returning on a phased basis throughout March and April.
