Clare Senator Warns Of Potential Anomaly In Wage Subsidy Scheme

Clare’s Fianna Fáil Senator has argued that there could be an anomaly which needs addressing in the government’s Wage Subsidy Scheme.

As part of the July Stimulus Package, the Temporary Scheme has been re-named as the Employment Wage Support Scheme, which will be in place until next April.

Expected to support around 350,000 jobs, the scheme will only be open to companies whose turnover has fallen by 30% or more and is worth up to €203 per week per worker.

However, Clare Fianna Fáil Senator Timmy Dooley says there needs to be flexibility in how these schemes are implemented, in order to help businesses
