Half-a-million euro has been allocated for the design phase of a long-awaited Shannon crossing bridge at Killaloe.
Planning permission was granted for the bridge four years ago, with the total cost being in the region of €42 million.
Work is underway in securing consultants to oversee the design, which will be the first major development in getting the project up and running.
