Green Light For Clare’s First Solar Farm

Clare’s first solar farm has been given the green light by An Bord Pleanala despite objections from local residents.

The development at Ballymorris, near Cratloe, will generate enough electricity to power 1200 homes, removing 1800 tonnes of carbon emissions from the atmosphere in the county.

Planning permission was granted by Clare County Council in October, but that decision was appealed to the planning authority, which has now approved the development.
