Morning Focus opened with a proposal to have park-and-ride facilities made available to those travelling to big games at Cusack Park. Cllr Johnny Flynn’s making the call in the wake of the Clare v Kilkenny game which saw up to 60 people ticketed for illegal parking.

Dep Timmy Dooley (FF) joined the show next to share his concerns about the cost of energy and the possibility of a strike by Bus Éireann workers.

Cllr Ann Norton, Mayor of Ennis, then joined Gavin to discuss cuts to dental screening services for children and the report on the ‘Grace’ foster home scandal.

Liam Moroney from Tulla then joined Gavin to discuss his battle with oesophageal cancer. Noelle Ryan, CEO of the Oesophageal Cancer Fund outlined the importance of checking for symptoms and she urged people to support Lollipop Day in March.

Conor Faughnan of AA Ireland joined Gavin then to talk about the importance of driving according to the weather conditions.

Frankie Coote joined Gavin for his weekly conversation about animal welfare issues.

The show concluded with the Morning Focus Book Club when Teresa Carmody-O’Shea and Nollaig McNamar, Treasurer of Ennis Book Festival, joined Gavin in studio to discuss ‘The Death of All Things Seen’ by Michael Collins.
