Claims Refusal To Host Miller Game “Unsurprising” Given GAA’s Track Record

The Clare man who played a leading role in opening Croke Park to sports other than Gaelic Games admits the GAA’s refusal to stage a high profile soccer game in Pairc ui Chaoimh is “unsurprising”.

The Liam Miller tribute match has been organised in aid of the late Cork natives family after the former Ireland and Manchester United star passed away in February at the age of 36.

The game is set to be staged in Turners Cross in September but there are calls for the GAA to open the larger venue of Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
