Call For Work To Maintain Clare’s Pristine Water Conditions

Clare’s Water Safety Officer says it’s vital that Irish Water works to ensure that the county’s bathing waters retain their pristine standards.

The beach at Kilkee is open to swimmers once again, following a burst storm rising main there at the weekend, which caused wastewater to be pumped into the sea.

Irish Water, which is responsible for the infrastructure, has carried out tests there which came back clear yesterday, meaning the Blue Flag for water quality is flying once again.
