Wolfe Tones and Kilfenora are both staring down the barrel of relegation from the Clare SFC.

2016 intermediate champions Kilfenora lost out to St Josephs Doora Barefield in their losers round tie on a 2-12 to 1-9 scoreline.

Goals in either half from Alan O’Neill and David O’Brien proved crucial for the Parish as they booked their spot in the playoff round and secured their senior status for 2018.

A first half goal for Gearoid Kelly saw Corofin always in control of their tie against Wolfe Tones and they led 1-7 to 0-3 at the break.

The Shannon men rallied after the break but could never close the gap as they eventually lost out by 1-13 to 0-10.

There are two more games tomorrow in the losers round as Ennistymon meet Kilkee in Cooraclare at 12pm while Miltown and St Breckans do battle in Ennistymon at 1.30pm
