Tributes paid to Tom Costello

Tributes have been paid to Clare horse trainer Tom Costello who has passed away aged 77

The Newmarket man was considered one of the greatest horse trainers of his generation and had six Cheltenhem  Gold Cup winners pass through his stables including triple gold cup winner Best Mate.

The Co Clare native also gained international fame when his Tartan Ace won the 1973 Irish Grand National, under the late Jackie Cullen.
