Tributes Paid To Doonbeg and Banner Stalwart Pat Blake

Tributes are being paid to one of Clare’s Munster Football championship winners after he passed away following an illness.

Doonbeg’s Pat Blake was part of the Banner panel that beat Kerry in the 1992 Munster Final while he also featured in the All Ireland semi final defeat against Dublin that same year.

Pat was a stalwart for the Magpies for many years and won numerous county championship and Cusack Cup titles while also having an active role in coaching within the club.

He’s survived by his wife Ann, sons Cillian and Conor and daughters Cliodhna and Nollaig.

Pat will lie in repose this evening in Doonbeg Church from 5pm to 8pm with funeral mass tomorrow at 2pm followed by burial in Doomore Cemetery.

May he rest in peace
