Tributes To Clare GAA Stalwart Noel Walsh

The death has been announced of Noel Walsh, a former chair of the Clare County Board and of the Munster Council.

The Miltown Malbay native, who won county titles with his club St. Joseph’s, also represented Clare at Minor and Junior Gaelic Football levels.

Later, he served as manager of the Clare Senior Footballers, and was a selector on the 1992 Munster Championship winning side.

In 1995, he began a three year term as Munster Chairman, and in his first year in the role he had the honour of presenting the Munster Hurling Cup to Clare Captain Anthony Daly, as Clare bridged a a 62 year gap.
