Only one goal separated them in a five-goal thriller in 2018 as Newmarket Celtic claimed their seventh consecutive crown.

Avenue United manager David Russell, who’s assisted by Shane Daniels, says this is the contest they’ve been waiting for.

Kick-off at Frank Healy Park this evening is at 6.30pm.

But should Newmarket prevail again, they could have an inter club rivalry in the final as their B side are also in action.

After beating Kilkishen Celtic, the second string are 90 minutes away from Clare soccer’s showpiece event but they first must get past a Shannon Olympic side who’s scored 20 goals in their previous three outings.

Newmarket Celtic B manager Mark O’Malley, who’s assisted by Kieran Ryan, says his team have made the sacrifices.

And kick-off at Frank Healy Park tomorrow is at 11am.
