Soccer leagues come to dramtic conclusion

Bunratty have been crowned Premeir league champions for 2009 after they won a dramatic play off with Avenue United today on penalties

The sides were scoreless after 90 minutes and following 20 minutes of extra time penalties had to be used to seperate the teams.

Bunratty won the shootout 6-5 on penaties after Avenue United’s David Mc Mahon put his effort over the bar.

Mountshannon Celtic have qualifyied for a  promotion playoff after they beat  Connolly Celtic  in Prego Menswear First Division League

The result means  Connolly are relegated.

Elsewhere Kilkishen Celtic will be playing in Divison two next season after they came through against Manus Celtic in today’s promotion relegation play off also after a penalty shootout.

The sides ended 3 goals each after extra time with the shootout finishing 5-4.
