Sixmilebridge celebrate 12th Clare SHC title

The man who led Sixmilebridge to a second Clare Senior Hurling title in three years says there's huge credit due to the squad.

Yesterday's 1-21 to 0-15 win over Clonlara saw the Bridge capture their 12th county title.

It's the second time John O'Meara has led them to glory, following up on the win in 2013, he says it's a just reward for the commitment the squad have given.

Meanwhile captain Caimin Morey says it was a special win for the club.

It was his brother Alex who got the only goal of the game inside the opening ten minutes, which set the tone for the rest of the contest.

Caimin says it was a great feeling to captain the side

A haul of 0-13 from the evergreen Niall Gilligan saw him take the man of the match award.

The Bridge now renew rivalries with Limerick side na Piarsigh in the Munster Club Hurling Quarter Final.

The sides last met in the 2013 Munster Club Final, with na Piarsigh taking the honours.

That game is set for two weeks time, and will be played at a Clare venue that's yet to be confirmed.
