Shannon Town United have had their U16 SFAI Sketchers National Cup campaign cut short after a loss to Cork’s Carrigaline United in the semi-finals.
While Carrigaline skirted the goalmouth frequently from the beginning of the match, it was Shannon United that found the net first, giving them a confidence boost to control the first half and keep the lead into half-time.
Carrigaline retaliated with a headed goal in the second half, however, and shortly after followed it up to end the match 2-1, securing their spot in the finals.
