SFAI could get involved following Avenue Donegal League match

 The SFAI are expecdted to launch an investigation into incidents which occured during Avenue’s  Goodison cup defeat to Donegal league side Kilmacrennan on Saturday.

It’s understood that there were several disturbances during the game involving the travelling support which caused the match to be stopped by the referee in order to resore order.

The Referee’s report is set to be received by officals this evening when a decison on whether to pursue any further action will be made.

An Avenue  spokeman has confirmed that the Clare club have written a letter to the SFAI highlighting issues during Saturday’s defeat.

In senior soccer and  Bridge United and Rineanna Rovers both  missed the chance of significantly closing the gap on league leaders Avenue United over the weekend.

Rineanna lost at home to Shannon Olympic while Bridge United drew 2-2 with Rock Rovers to move within 8 points of the league leaders despite having played a game extra.

Bridge Celtic beat Burren United 2-1 to close the gap on the top three.
