Starting with hurling and Claremen have shone brightly for NUI Galway as they've captured the Fitzgibbon Cup for the first time in 30 years following a dramatic win over Waterford IT
NUIG were eight points down at one stage in the second half but fought back to force extra time, where they again trailed.
However they fought back to level matters before a late point from Clonlara's John Conlon gave them the win.
The final score at Pearse Stadium was 1-17 to 1-16.
There was disappointment today for Clare's camogie players as they were narrowly edged out by Dublin. The final score there was 2-6 to 1-8 in favour of the Dubs. Clare's top scorer, Deirdre Murphy, chipped in with 1-4.
Staying with news of gaelic games and a Clareman has been elected to the post of vice chairman of the Munster Council.
Robert Frost from O'Callaghan's Mills is a former chairman of the county board, having led Clare during the glory days of the late nineties.
He was elected to the post at a meeting of the Munster Council last night and all going to plan will now take over as chairman of the council in three years time.
Finally to athletics and five Clare athletes have brought home gold medals following day one of the Munster Juvenile Indoor Championsips in Nenagh.
