A two time All Ireland winner with the Banner is hopeful that the National Hurling and Football Leagues can get underway next month as planned.

As it stands, intercounty sides are not permitted to return to collective training until January 31st, with Clare set to get their campaigns underway in both codes in the third weekend of February.

It’s understood the GAA will provide an update on its plans for the season ahead at the end of the month, with suggestions that the association is considering pushing out the league’s starting date to the end of March.
