O’Donnell Confirms Hand Injury

Shane O'Donnell has confirmed that he has fractured his hand.

The Eire Óg man, who scored Clare's only goal on Wednesday night in Clare's Munster Under-21 Final win over Cork, hurt his hand during that game.

He confirmed news of the fracture on twitter, though it's not known if he'll be fit to feature for the Banner in their All-Ireland semi-final against Antrim in three weeks’ time.

Elsewhere, in football, Cork have named an unchanged team for Sunday's All Ireland quarter-final against Mayo.

Manager Brian Cuthbert has kept faith with the side that started the qualifier victory over Sligo which means that established players such as Fintan Goold, Daniel Goulding and fit-again Donncha O'Connor all have to settle for a place on the bench.

John Hayes is also named among the subs after serving a one-match suspension.

Alan Mullholland has named an unchanged fifteen for Galway's quarter final meeting with Kerry.

That means Gary O'Donnell has been passed fit to start, despite prior concerns over a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, the Kildare footballers have made three changes for tomorrow's All Ireland qualifier against Monaghan.

Full-back Mick Foley returns to the defence while Tomas O'Connor and Eoghan O Flaherty both start among the forwards.

Emmet Bolton, Gary White and Padraig Fogarty are the players that make way.

Monaghan manager Malachy O'Rourke has named an unchanged team as Dermot Malone has recovered from a broken thumb to start at corner-forward.
