Newmarket Celtic boss Liam Murphy says they were threatened with expulsion from the Munster Junior Cup if they lost an appeal against the decision to overturn home advantage for their quarter final tie.

On the weekend that Storm Emma shut down the country, Newmarket were scheduled to play St Michaels at McDonagh Park but took the decision to call off the game despite pressure from the Munster FA for the tie to go ahead.

It means they will travel to Cooke Park in Tipperary on Sunday as they bid for a place in the last four.

Murphy says they need to put it to the back of their minds and focus on getting the right result.
